Walkthrough

Jehangir Art Gallery

Some paintings may not make much sense to a commoner or a result person. In the above painting, I think the artist wants to make people aware of the climate change issue. You can see a tree arising from the ground and ending up in factories and houses. But I am not sure. You can tell me in the comments sections below this article.

The Jehangir art gallery is a one-story building. There’s one room on the ground floor, another on the first floor, and one more on the terrace. The above picture is from the room located on the terrace. You can see two people looking at the paintings.

The terrace gallery is a narrow room with hundreds of paintings to look at. You can discuss the artwork with the staff present there. On one side you have handmade paintings, and on the other side, you can see black and white photographs depicting rural India.

There is a massive terrace in the gallery. You will often see college students hanging out over here. It is also a good location to take group pictures.

You can take the staircase to reach the terrace. As you can see in the image, the surrounding area is covered in greenery.

Most of the artwork exhibited here shows rural India. The above woodcut painting is a face mask worn by Gavari men and women. They wear masks while performing their traditional dance. The Gavari tribe is native to the Mewar- Vagad area of southern Rajasthan.
