How to Visit the IKEA Store in Navi Mumbai?
The IKEA store opened in Navi Mumbai in December 2020, a few months before the global pandemic. Due to certain restrictions and guidelines provided by the Indian government, the store was partially open back then, and you had to book an appointment before visiting. In 2024, a lot of people wonder if the same rules apply to the entry. Further in the post, I will tell you exactly how you can visit the IKEA store in Navi Mumbai.
How to visit the IKEA store in Navi Mumbai?
As of November 2024, you don’t need to pre-book to enter the IKEA store. You also don’t need to show the vaccination certificate at the entrance gate. Although IKEA requests customers to wear a mask, it is not mandatory.
However, they do check the customer’s temperature before they enter the store. If you are unwell, you can always order online from their smartphone app. You can download the app on the Google Play Store.
IKEA has a massive parking area, and they do not charge for it. You can safely park your two-wheeler or four-wheeler vehicle in the parking area. They also allow Uber to enter the premises, so you don’t have to worry about having to walk all the way from the street to the IKEA entrance gate.
Furthermore, if you are from Thane or Mulund, you can take the complimentary AC bus that IKEA provides for free. The bus will pick you up from your selected location and drop you at your destination once you’re done with the shopping.
Unfortunately, the free pick-up and drop services are only available in the Thane and Mulund area. You can check out the official bus timetable here.

How to reach IKEA, Navi Mumbai from Vashi?
Turbhe railway station is just two stops away from Vashi railway station. A regular ticket will cost you ₹ 5, a first-class ticket will cost you ₹ 25 and an AC compartment ticket will cost you ₹35.
Alternatively, you can also take a bus from the Vashi bus depot, but a bus ride will take significantly more time (around half an hour).
Is the restaurant expensive for a middle-class person?
Most people are unaware of the fact that IKEA has a large food court within the premises. You can walk around with a trolley, pick up the food items you like, and then move to the billing counter— where you pay.
There’s a large sitting area where you can enjoy the meal with your folks.
The food is cheaper than American fast-food chains such as McDonald’s, KFC, and Burger King. They mainly serve Swedish food over here— as IKEA is a Swedish-founded company headquartered in Delft, Netherlands.
The restaurant is open on all days from 10.30 am to 11 pm.
Below are some of the popular Swedish food items with their prices.
- Veggie balls – ₹150
- Chicken meatballs – ₹250
- Salmon filet – ₹650
- Kids menu – ₹100
They do have some Indian dishes as well:
- Dal makhani with rice – ₹200
- Chicken tikka masala with rice – ₹250
- Paneer butter masala with rice – ₹250
Lastly, I would say the store can maintain international standards, but the customer service needs to improve. The home decor and other household items are way expensive for a middle-class working person, but within range for someone coming from the upper-middle class.
